We asked for your stories about your adopted PAWS pets and we are happy to share some of them as our highlights for 2021! Meet Jack Frost and Lulu!
“Hello, my name is Lauren, and I adopted Jack Frost and Lulu from PAWS. Jack is a 7 year old white tom with bright blue eyes and is deaf. Lulu is now a year and a half, a tabby with spunk.
I had my original cat for a long time, and when she passed a few years ago, I knew I wanted to have another cat again. When I got my own apartment in the fall of 2020, within a month I was at the shelter. I had already looked on Petfinder, and fallen in love with Jack Frost. When I visited, I knew I couldn’t leave without him. While I was there, I had to look at the other rooms and kitties. Then, Lulu walked up to me and started playing with my shoelaces. She let me hold her, and she was friendly. Little did I know she would turn out to be a crazy kitten monster! Also my aunt’s nickname for me is Lulu, so it felt like fate. They had never met before, but I thought, Jack was overweight, so Lulu can chase him around the house to lose weight, and Jack can teach Lulu to calm down since he’s older. And they could keep each other company. So, I ended up taking home one more cat than I had planned. Lulu is a troublemaker, and loves to beg for human food. She likes pets in the morning, but won’t admit it, then gets crazy energy at night, running around and doing kickflips off the wall. Jack is usually sleeping. They have only cuddled a couple times on car rides (and they don’t want to admit that either), but other than that they tolerate each other. But, Lulu isn’t alone with her issues. Jack has some bathroom issues. He is VERY picky about his litter. If he doesn’t have the right brand or type, even if the crystals are too big or small or just don’t feel right, he’ll turn his nose and won’t step in it. He poops outside of the litter box pretty much every time, and I’ve tried everything I can, but no luck yet. Lulu often lays on her back, and Jack always gives me kisses. I have so many pictures of them, its hard to choose which ones to send!
Thank you PAWS for taking good care of fur babies so they can be adopted.”
Sometimes the animals choose us. Thank you Lauren for giving Jack and Lulu a wonderful home and loving them so thoroughly, even when Jack leaves ‘presents’ outside the box!
