June is “Adopt A Shelter Cat” Month

Cats at PAWS

With the Covid-19 quarantine and many summer events cancelled, many of us are feeling like with don’t know what month it is. For the record, it’s June and the American Humane has designated June as “Adopt a Shelter Cat” month.

Coincidentally, June also marks the height of “kitten season,” when large litters of kittens are born and often end up in animal shelters. PAWS is experiencing “kitten season” with a pregnant momma who just gave birth to a litter of beautiful kittens, as well as kittens coming from other sources. They will soon be in the Kitten Room and you can watch them online. In the meantime, you can watch live and see what our adult cats are up to: https://www.pawsadoptioncenter.org/adopt-a-pet/

More than ever, shelter pets need our help. Not only are thousands of newborn kittens joining the millions of cats already in shelters, but a lack of foot traffic, funding and supplies at many shelters struggling to maintain operations during the COVID-19 pandemic further threaten these loving animals and their hopes to find a forever home.

PAWS has found loving forever homes for over 13,000 abandoned, neglected and homeless kittens, puppies, cats and dogs. You can see photos of our available animals on our website and at www.petfinder.com. Give us a call, 513-539-7297, to set an appointment to meet your next New Best Friend!
